“While you’re green, you’re growing. When you’re ripe, you rot.” Ray Kroc
Before I was at HCI, I was a professional tennis player and coach. It was a remarkable experience.
Why do I tell you this first up? Well, to get into any sort of ranking as a tennis player it takes a lot of teamwork and professional development. Just like working at HCI and the thinking people we encounter every day.
It’s no different for people working in more ‘conventional’ jobs. Have a passion for what you do, working on your strengths, understanding and working around limiting weaknesses, being as good as you can be. I still apply this philosophy today in my work with HCI. I gain great satisfaction when working with passionate people and teams to support individuals, teams and organisations to play to their strengths.
The range of organisations I’ve worked with is really broad - mostly national or multinationals in very diverse industries. The common denominator is their need for team effectiveness and increased organisational performance – developing agile teams to drive business results.
I love working with people. I know I’ve ticked off all my deliverables when I’ve got everyone actively participating in programs I deliver. And then they play to their strengths, the team succeeds and the organization prospers.
